Come and try our yin yoga and meditation class

Due the popularity of our Yin Yoga and Meditation course this has now been introduced as a weekly class into our timetable.

Come along to Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre and take part in our Yin Yoga and Guided Meditation class with Mariam Scudamore, physiotherapist, yoga and meditation teacher. No experience is needed.

Yin Yoga
This yoga focuses on hip opening and the lower back and benefits the physical body by freeing up the tight connective tissue capsules that form around the muscles and joints and limits our mobility. Yin Yoga aims to work on this directly. This yoga practice is gentle and slow, which affects the deeper connective tissues of the body. This class is suitable for all ages.

Meditation
Why meditate? When you read about meditation, you become curious as to why people meditate. Why do they sit still and upright in silence for long periods of time? What are they thinking about? Is it some kind of religion; if so, what do they believe in?
To answer to “why mediate” is as obvious as “why be happy”? Meditation helps us to have a peaceful mind, which ultimately creates happiness and clarity in our lives.

The class is available from Friday 29 November 7.15-8.30pm.

Please contact Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre on 020 8977 9911 for more information.

Were you in the netball team at school and fancy playing again?

Since 2010, over 35,000 women have started playing netball again through the award winning Back to Netball programme. Sessions provide a gentle re-introduction to the game for women over sixteen and are led by qualified coaches. You can just turn up, sessions are pay and play, and you can expect to cover basic skills like passing and footwork and even play in a fun match.

Whether it’s about rediscovering sporting abilities you forgot you had or about getting active again, Back to Netball caters for all abilities and giggles are guaranteed!

Sessions last for an hour and consist of a warm up, a couple of games (not matches, just silly games to get you loosened up), some drills, things like passing the ball with a partner and running the length of the pitch before trying to shoot, and then finally a short match.

Why not come along to Hampton Sports & Fitness Centre on a Thursday evening 7.00-8.00pm, join in and have lots and lots of fun!
