Orleans Park Sports Centre will be closing on 31 August and we’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your custom and support over the past three years. The majority of our current programme including courses, sessions and block bookings are transferring back to the new facilities at Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre

Infant Learn to Swim

Here at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre we offer carer and baby/toddler/pre-school courses. Lots of baby’s love the water and our Feel Good Swim School Infant Learn to Swim lessons are a fun way to bond and they can help your child feel more confident in the water as they grow.

These courses will help to build a carers confidence in handling their baby and familiarise them with the pool environment. Our carer and toddler courses are for water confident toddlers and will improve early water skills with carer support. Our pre-school classes are designed to help children prepare for nursery / school and build on their social skills.

So what are the benefits of learning to swim at such a young age?
• It’s a skill for life
• A fantastic bonding experience
• Great for physical and mental development
• Exercise is fun and should be a way of life
• Develop social skills developing a child ready for school life

Are you mad enough for Insanity?

Here at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre we have some great new fitness classes for you to try!

Insanity
You might have tried the DVD but now you can do it at Teddington. Insanity is a hyper-intense, high energy workout that combines the fundamentals of interval training with a focus on building strength, endurance, and balance. You'll work out intensely for 3-4 minutes, and then cool down for 30 seconds before beginning the next high-intensity segment. Our instructor will really help you push your limits and working out with others is guaranteed to make you work harder than if you were alone doing it at home with the DVD.
Insanity takes place on Saturdays 10.15-11.15am

What about Bokwa?
Bokwa is a new and completely different approach to group exercise that is rapidly spreading across the globe. Participants draw letters and numbers with their feet while performing an energising and addictive cardio workout routine to today’s most popular music.
Bokwa is available on Saturdays 12.30-1.30pm.

Other new fitness classes this term include our Feel Good Fitness Fit Camps on Thursday 1.05-1.50pm and Sunday 10.30-11.30am

Holistic exercise to harmonise the mind and body

Reduce life’s stresses and centre your self with our holistic classes at Shene Sports & Fitness Centre.

Pilates
This class focuses on co-ordination and relaxation using slow flowing movements. Developed to work specifically on training the core postural muscles improving both strength and flexibility.
Pilates is available:
Thursday 8.00-9.00pm

Yoga
Yoga is one of the most widely practiced of spiritual disciplines. The postures used in Yoga have been developed over thousands of years. It encourages relaxation and the posture work can alleviate back pain as well as improving circulation.

Hatha Yoga Thursday 7.00-8.00pm

Can’t swim? Try one of our adult swim courses

Maybe it’s time to overcome your fear of water. Here at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre we have experienced instructors who will help and support you.

But our adult swimming courses aren’t just for people who can’t swim at all. Many adults who know how to swim may not necessarily swim with an efficient swim stroke. We can help you to improve stroke development and fitness.

We offer 6 week courses for beginners, intermediate or advanced swimmers.

Are you a nifty fifty?

Physical activity is essential if we want to enjoy good health as we get older. Regular exercise will help keep you mobile and achieve more out of life.

Nifty Fifties at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre is a class for seniors (aimed at the over 50’s) of all levels. It comprises of a gentle low impact aerobic section followed by conditioning work, core work and stretches that could incorporate body balls, exercise bands and light hand weights. Emphasis is put on maintaining or improving posture
and range of motion around the major joints. This is a great class to work at your own pace.

Have you tried Boxercise?

Boxercise is an effective form of cross training that incorporates a combination of boxing movements and aerobics. This makes for a fun alternative and also improves rhythm, coordination as well as burning calories.

Our class focuses on upper body conditioning, toning of your arms, chest and abdominals. It also includes some lower body exercises as well as improving cardiovascular fitness so is considered the perfect training workout.

Dance and get fit at Shene

Our new fitness class programme at Shene Sports & Fitness Centre is starting soon and there’s a wide range of classes for all fitness levels.

Our energetic and enthusiastic instructors will help you get fit and have fun at the same time!

Why not try our Dance and Fitness class. Learn fun dance routines to upbeat music in this energetic exercise class. It’s an aerobic, fat-burning workout that tones the whole body and is guaranteed to make you look and feel great! The class takes place on Wednesdays from 8.00-9.00pm.

Or come along and try our great new Body Conditioning class. It’s a work out to help tone, strengthen and re-shape your body. Using a combination of hand weights, resistance bands, body bars and steps we will help you create the perfect sculpture.
Body Conditioning takes place on Tuesday from 7.00-8.00pm with our popular instructor Margaret.
