Pilates at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre

Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to aid balance, muscle strength, flexibility and posture. It was created by German born Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s and incorporates elements of yoga, martial arts and western forms of exercise. Pilates can help improve posture, muscle tone and flexibility, core strength and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension. It can also facilitate injury prevention and physical rehabilitation, builds better balance and coordination, help alleviate aches and pains and offers a safe and beneficial form of exercise for a wide range of medical conditions including Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre regularly run beginner Pilates courses. These courses are for 6 weeks and the next course will start in April. Once the beginners course has been completed participants can attend any Pilates class within the timetable as they will be considered to be at general level standard.
