Those half term holidays will soon be here

The half term holidays are here and if you’re looking for something fun and energetic to keep the kids occupied then look no further than Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre.

We are running swimming crash courses, Monday 26 to Friday 30 October. A short intensive course is often the best way to learn to swim or develop your skills. Courses are available for all ages and abilities including beginners through to improvers.

One day workshops for diving are also available. These workshops are a great way to improve diving skills, learn how to do elementary dives, leading into racing dives from the side and the blocks. Diving is for children over 8 years and they must be able to swim 25 metres of all strokes.

Have fun in the pool with our great fun time float sessions too on Saturday and Sunday 2.00-4.00pm.

It’s time for Toddler Fun Time

Looking for something fun to do with the little ones? Why not come along to Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre’s Toddler Fun Time sessions.

It’s a dedicated toddler session where pre-schoolchildren can come along and enjoy our fantastic range of soft play equipment including bouncy castle and inflatable slide.

Toddler Fun Time sessions are available Saturday and Sunday 9.00-10.55am.

Sessions are also available during school holidays including the forthcoming October half term, Monday to Friday 9.00am-4.00pm. Please check with the centre reception before visiting to ensure the sessions are taking place.

Football courses for children

Our football courses for children are run by Brentford Community Sports Trust and are great fun, help kids to gain confidence and meet new friends. Children will learn skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and running. Sessions are fun based but structured and will also help co-ordination, balance, movement, space awareness, social skills, and communication.

Talented youngsters are given the option to progress to the BFC Advanced training programme which leads into the Brentford Football Club Academy.

Football courses at Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre take place at Lincoln Field, our state of the art 3G surface:

4-6 years 9.30-10.30am
7-9 years 10.30-11.30am

Do you enjoy playing badminton?

Our Badminton Club at Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre caters for players of all standards. With a mix of experienced players and a fully qualified coach on hand to give advice should you want it, you’ll be able to enjoy badminton on your own terms.

We are always looking for new players to come along and join in and we will always make you feel welcome.

Badminton Club sessions are available:

Adult Badminton Club 16yrs+
Thursday 8.30-10.00pm
Sunday 10.00am – 12noon (family session for adults and children aged 8+years)

Want to learn some new moves?

Teddington Sports Centre offers street dance for children aged 8 years+. They will have the opportunity to learn urban dance moves to the latest dance tunes.

Street dance is very popular and is often seen on TV, in music videos and shows such as Britain’s Got Talent. Street dance is not only a great way to improve your dancing skills but you can also become a member of a team and learn to dance with them.

Our structured dance classes at Teddington are designed to develop technique, co-ordination and confidence in street dance styles.

Have you ever wanted to learn to swim but been too scared?

It’s never too late to learn how to swim!

Here at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre we aim to deliver the best swimming lessons out there; engaging and motivating all abilities and ultimately providing the perfect springboard into independent swimming. For ages 16+ we welcome beginners as well as improvers wishing to develop their overall ability.

Our Feel Good Swim School adult swimming lessons will develop an individual’s confidence, ability, and skill in an aquatic environment. Learning how to swim is a life-skill which can enhance quality of life through physical activity and our instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your goals. Not to mention swimming is great fun, with plenty of room for progression!

We offer 6 week courses for beginners, intermediate or advanced swimmers. Our next term will start w/c 2 November and you can book your place now.

Judo for kids

If you’re looking for a way to encourage your children to take more physical exercise its worth considering a martial arts class designed for youngsters.

Your child may have already expressed an interest, thanks to popular comic creations such as The Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. So why not come along to Teddington Sports Centre and try our judo courses.

Each course is fun but also educational. It will allow children to develop physical fitness, balance and physical coordination as well as mental, emotional and moral awareness.

Confidence and self-esteem will be enhanced as children progress through the grading system as each grade or goal is always realistic and achievable.
